HÃ¥kan Lindquist's last book was the children's book Ariel tjugofyra/sju (Opal, 2020), a beautiful and dark story about a ten-year-old child who finds a new community with his foster parents.
He made his debut in 1993 with the novel Min bror och hans bror (Rabén & Sjögren, 1993) which was translated into several languages, and wrote also short stories, articles and reviews.
HÃ¥kan wrote also the libretto for the opera William with music by the composer B. Tommy Andersson.
He worked even as a translator, mostly from French.
HÃ¥kan Lindquist passed away at the end of december 2022, at the age of 64.
I met HÃ¥kan both in France (during the MEET literary festival in Saint-Nazaire) and Sweden on different occasions, and started to translate into French Ariel tjugofyra/sju for a year ago.
HÃ¥kan Lindquist is represented in the book "Portraits d'Auteurs / Author Portraits" (Carlssons, 2020).
All the portraits of HÃ¥kan are available at the Opale Agency.
