Håkan Lindquist's last book was the children's book Ariel tjugofyra/sju (Opal, 2020), a beautiful and dark story about a ten-year-old child who finds a new community with his foster parents.

He made his debut in 1993 with the novel Min bror och hans bror (Rabén & Sjögren, 1993) which was translated into several languages, and wrote also short stories, articles and reviews.

Håkan wrote also the libretto for the opera William with music by the composer B. Tommy Andersson.

He worked even as a translator, mostly from French.

Håkan Lindquist passed away at the end of december 2022, at the age of 64.

I met Håkan both in France (during the MEET literary festival in Saint-Nazaire) and Sweden on different occasions, and started to translate into French Ariel tjugofyra/sju for a year ago.

Håkan Lindquist is represented in the book "Portraits d'Auteurs / Author Portraits" (Carlssons, 2020).

All the portraits of Håkan are available at the Opale Agency.

I have translated now from Swedish into French the novel ”Mördarens mamma” written by Ida Linde (Norstedts, Stockholm 2018).

None of Ida Lindes novels have been translated into French yet, in spite of a prolific literary production (novels, short stories, poetry) and two literature prizes (Aftonbladets litteraturpris 2014, Norrlands litteraturpris 2015).

Ida Linde is translated into other European languages; Polish, Serbian, Norwegian, Icelandic, Russian and Belarusian.

I am now looking for a French publisher who would be interested in introducing Ida Linde's literary work to French readers.

Ida Linde is represented by Norstedts Agency (Stockholm); Linda Altrov Berg is responsible for the foreign rights.

You can read a brief synopsis of the story in French

A presentation of the book is even disponible at the Institut Suédois (Paris).

For more portraits of the author, please take contact with the Agence Opale (Paris).
