A photograph of the Romanian writer Marius Daniel Popescu has been published in the French daily newspaper Le Monde (December 21, 2025).

The french publishing house Corti released in september 2025 his last novel, Le cri du barbeau.

The photograph was taken in Saint-Nazaire (France) in 2009 during the MEET festival (Maison des Écrivains Étrangers et Traducteurs).

"L’écriture de Marius Daniel Popescu est d’une générosité assez inouïe. Le Cri du barbeau vient clôturer, après La Symphonie du loup et Les Couleurs de l’hirondelle (Corti, 2007 et 2012), une trilogie sur les mots. Or, les mots, c’est assez rare pour le souligner, l’écrivain ne les accapare pas."

Pierre-Édouard Peillon, Le Monde, 19 décembre 2025

The German-language Swiss daily newspaper Tages-Anzeiger published an interview with British historian Antony Beevor in its 6 May 2025 edition.

‘I fear that we are once again facing a very cruel and brutal period.’

Eighty years after the end of the Second World War, we are still unable to understand dictators, claims British historian Antony Beevor. Because the next great war has long since begun.

The article is illustrated with a photograph taken in August 2018 during his visit to Stockholm.

The Femina literary prize 2025 goes to the a Mauritian-French author Nathacha Appanah for La Nuit au cœur (Gallimard, 2025).

La nuit au cœur intertwines three stories of women who are victims of violence at the hands of their partners. Walking the line between strength and humility, Nathacha Appanah examines the unbearable enigma of domestic femicide, when the dark night takes the place of love.
