La nuit au cœur intertwines three stories of women who are victims of violence at the hands of their partners. Walking the line between strength and humility, Nathacha Appanah examines the unbearable enigma of domestic femicide, when the dark night takes the place of love.

Elias Khoury was a Lebanese novelist and advocate of the Palestinian cause. He died in Beyrouth in September.

The photograph of Elias Khoury was taken in his office at the newspaper Al-Nahar in Beyrouth, for which he was editor-in-chief of its cultural supplement Al-Mulhaq (july 2002). He was one of the first lebanese writer I met.

Khoury's novels are remarkable for their complex approach to both political themes and more fundamental questions about human behaviour. They often involve an inner monologue.

His novels and literary criticism have been translated into several languages.

Short bibliography (in French) : La Petite Montagne (1977), La Porte du soleil (Actes sud, 2002), 2004 Yalo (Actes Sud, 2004), Sinalcol (Actes Sud, 2013), L'Étoile de la mer (Actes Sud Sindbad, 2023).

The French daily newspaper Le Monde published an article about him a few days after his death.
