A photograph of the Finland-Swedish author Lars Sund is published in a new book about Finländarnas historia i Sverige (The history of Finns in Sweden), Appell Förlag (2025).

Editorial work Jarmo Lainio, Graphic design Fredrika Siwe, Photo editor Susanna Mälarstedt and Ola Kellgren.

More than 700,000 people of Finnish origin live in Sweden.

Among them are Swedish Finns, Finnish Swedes, Tornedalers, Kvens and Lantalaiset, Finnish Roma and Finnish war children, as well as descendants of the Forest Finns.

Together, they form a large and multifaceted mosaic of minorities with the common denominator that they have kinship and historical ties to Finland.

In The History of Finns in Sweden, a number of researchers and writers paint a broad and comprehensive picture of their background and status during the period 1995–2025.
